COASTAL OCEANFRONT RESIDENCE
COMPLETED
2025
Completed in 2025, the Sunset Beach residence is an oceanfront home on North Carolina's southern Brunswick County coast, built by Peters Custom Homes with interiors in collaboration with Emerald & Oak Design (opens in a new tab) . The house rises three stories above a ground-level garage, with stacked covered porches and broad bands of windows facing the water, and a palm-lined walk leading down to a private pool terrace.
The pool terrace is the home's outdoor center: a rectangular pool with an attached spa, a linear fire feature set into built-in stone seating, lounge decks and turf lawn framed by coastal plantings. From the upper floors, the terrace, the dunes and the ocean beyond read as one continuous view.
Inside, the palette is drawn from the beach itself — white walls, wide-plank light oak floors, sea-glass blues, woven textures and natural shell and rattan accents — so every room feels bright, relaxed and connected to the water.

The Great Room and Kitchen
The main living level is one open room under a white plank ceiling with a stained wood beam. A deep sectional faces a linear fireplace and media wall, a built-in window seat with blue cushions sits beneath framed coastal art, and a rope-wrapped chandelier hangs over the seating area. The kitchen opens directly off the great room: a long sea-glass island lined with woven counter stools, an iridescent tile range wall under a white plaster-style hood, glass-front upper cabinetry, open shelving and a white-and-brass range. A farmhouse sink with an unlacquered brass bridge faucet is set into the island.
Dining With an Ocean View
The dining room sits in a bay of tall windows looking straight out to the ocean. A long table with upholstered chairs is lit by a crystal linear chandelier, and the warm oak floors carry through from the great room so the space reads as part of the main living level.
Gathering Spaces for Family and Guests
A second living area is organized for gathering: slipcovered white sofas, a round coffee table, a media wall and a beverage bar with glass-front cabinetry, open shelving and an undercounter refrigerator, with doors opening to the porch. A separate sitting room with a shell chandelier and a study with a writing desk give guests quieter places to settle in.
The Primary Suite
The primary bedroom is finished in soft sage and white with a woven headboard, a rattan pendant at each bedside, oyster-shell art and a reading chair set beside floor-length drapery and ocean-facing glass. The primary bath pairs a frameless glass shower with a freestanding soaking tub under a sea-glass beaded chandelier, large-format marble-look tile and a natural oak vanity with open linen storage.
Guest Rooms With Their Own Character
Each guest bedroom has its own coastal theme: a navy room with sea-turtle art, a surfboard room in striped blues, a woven room with framed shells, a sage-and-oak room, a coral twin room with board-and-batten walls and a bunk room under a bird-print wallpapered ceiling with built-in bunks. The baths follow suit, from a navy fretwork vanity and a scalloped white mirror to a powder room in botanical wallpaper with a rattan mirror.
