DESIGN COLLABORATION

Where architecture and interior design become one vision.

THE PARTNERSHIP

One Vision. One Home.

Exceptional homes are never the result of construction alone.

They emerge from the careful alignment of architecture, interior design, and craftsmanship — each informing the other from the earliest stages of the project.

For many Peters Custom Homes clients, that alignment is achieved through collaboration with Emerald & Oak Design, the residential interior design studio founded by Miriam Peters.

Working together from the earliest phases of architectural planning, Emerald & Oak ensures that every interior environment reflects the same clarity of vision as the architecture itself.

The result is a home where nothing feels added later — every room, material, and detail conceived as part of a unified whole. View the results in our portfolio of luxury Charlotte custom homes, or learn more about our building process.

EMERALD & OAK DESIGN

A Studio Built on Creative Leadership

Emerald & Oak Design is led by Miriam Peters — Founder, Principal Designer, and Creative Director.

Her practice operates intentionally at a boutique scale, accepting a limited number of commissions each year to ensure direct creative leadership from the first conversation through the final placement of furnishings.

This deliberate approach mirrors the philosophy of Peters Custom Homes: fewer projects, deeper involvement, and a commitment to delivering work that endures.

Miriam's work occupies a rare space between architecture and interior design. Rather than entering the process after the structure is complete, she collaborates alongside architects and builders during the earliest stages of design — shaping spatial flow, interior proportions, and material continuity long before construction begins.

The interiors she creates do not simply complement the architecture. They complete it.

"Designing for the Life Inside the Architecture"

A PURPOSE-BUILT DESIGN STUDIO

The Emerald & Oak Studio

Emerald & Oak operates from a 4,000-square-foot design studio in SouthPark, one of Charlotte's most distinguished design environments.

The studio includes:

• Curated material libraries
• Dedicated finish selection spaces
• Lighting and textile collections
• Collaborative design workspaces

Here, architectural concepts evolve into cohesive interiors, allowing clients to experience materials, textures, and finishes exactly as they will appear in their home.

This environment allows the design process to unfold with clarity and precision — long before construction begins.

DESIGN PHILOSOPHY

"Every room, material, and detail conceived as part of a unified whole."

PHILOSOPHY

Designed to Endure

Emerald & Oak believes the most successful interiors are not the most elaborate — they are the most considered.

Luxury, in this philosophy, is not defined by excess but by discernment: the discipline to include only what genuinely serves the architecture, the family, and the emotional character of the home.

These homes are not designed for trends. They are designed to endure.

They accommodate real life — the morning coffee in the kitchen, the quiet reading corner, the gathering of family around the table.

When design is approached with this perspective, the finished home feels inevitable — as though it could never have been any other way.

A NATURAL PARTNERSHIP

One Team. One Vision.

The long-standing collaboration between Peters Custom Homes and Emerald & Oak Design has produced some of the Charlotte region's most distinctive residences.

Architects, designers, and builders working as one team from the beginning ensures that the original vision of the home is preserved from concept through completion.

For clients building exceptional homes, this alignment creates a smoother process — and a finished residence that feels deeply intentional.
