Private Consultation
Frequently Asked Questions
- What happens during a private consultation with Nicholas Peters?
- The consultation is a confidential, one-on-one conversation with founder Nicholas Peters. He reviews your lifestyle and design aspirations, preferred Charlotte neighborhoods, homesite (owned or under consideration), target timeline, and investment parameters. You leave with a candid assessment of feasibility, realistic cost ranges, and the likely schedule for your residence.
- Is there a fee for the consultation?
- No. The initial private consultation is complimentary and carries no obligation. Paid engagements begin only if you elect pre-construction services such as homesite evaluation, feasibility studies, or detailed budgeting.
- How quickly will I hear back after submitting a request?
- Nicholas personally reviews every inquiry and responds within two business days. For time-sensitive matters, such as a homesite under contract, you may call 704-264-4572 directly.
- Do I need to own land before requesting a consultation?
- No. Many families begin the conversation before purchasing a homesite. Our Private Client Advisory service evaluates prospective lots for buildability, topography, utilities, and zoning so you avoid committing to land that cannot support your architectural vision.
- What investment level do you typically work within?
- Peters Custom Homes builds private residences generally ranging from $1 million to $10 million or more, with construction costs typically between $400 and $800+ per square foot depending on architecture, materials, and site conditions.
- Who attends the consultation, and how long does it take?
- The meeting is with Nicholas Peters directly and typically runs about one hour. Both spouses or decision-makers are welcome, and your architect or designer may join if one is already engaged. Longer sessions are arranged when plans are already in hand.
- Where does the consultation take place?
- Consultations are held at our SouthPark office at 4401 Barclay Downs Drive, Suite 132, Charlotte, NC 28209, at your homesite, or by video call for families relocating from out of state. Meetings are by appointment only.
- What should I bring or prepare?
- Bring whatever exists — a homesite address or listing, architectural plans or inspiration, an investment range, and your desired move-in window. Nothing is required. Many families arrive with only a neighborhood in mind.
- Is the consultation confidential?
- Yes. Client names, homesites, plans, and budgets are never published or shared. Our public portfolio is limited to residences we are expressly permitted to show, which is why many completed projects never appear online.
- How many homes do you accept each year?
- The firm limits production to eight to ten private residences annually so Nicholas Peters can remain personally involved in every project. The consultation determines whether your project and timeline align with the current year's capacity.
