Charlotte Home Project Introductions
Charlotte Home Project Introductions
Peters Custom Homes offers a contractor introduction program for homeowners seeking assistance with home projects within Charlotte, NC, and its surrounding communities. Our program facilitates connections between homeowners and independent contractors whose capabilities align with the specific needs of a project. Whether you are contemplating a minor update or a more significant renovation, we can review your request for an introduction.
Our network includes independent contractors who perform various trades. The availability of an introduction depends on factors such as the project's specific requirements, the project address, and the current capacity and interest of contractors within our network. We are dedicated to providing a thoughtful approach to connecting homeowners with qualified professionals.
Peters Custom Homes, Inc. provides contractor introductions through this program. You select, contract with, and pay the independent contractor directly. PCH does not perform, supervise, manage, inspect, or warrant that contractor's work under this program. Contractor acceptance, pricing, scheduling, and availability vary.
Homeowners pay Peters Custom Homes, Inc. nothing for an introduction. For referral-based projects, you pay the independent contractor directly for its work.
Understanding Your Project's Location and Scope
The project's address and its specific jurisdiction within the Charlotte metropolitan area can influence the types of considerations necessary for a home project. Different municipalities, such as the City of Charlotte or surrounding Mecklenburg County towns, may have distinct processes for permits, inspections, or zoning. Homeowners and their chosen contractor should always confirm any requirements with the relevant local authorities.
Charlotte's diverse neighborhoods, ranging from established areas with mature trees to newer developments, often present unique project characteristics. Contractors may need to consider site access, existing infrastructure, or specific architectural styles. We review these elements when evaluating your request for an introduction to help align you with a contractor suited to your project's context.
Planning Projects for Occupied Homes
Undertaking home projects while a residence is occupied requires careful planning to minimize disruption. Independent contractors experienced in working within occupied homes understand the importance of maintaining a clean work environment, protecting personal belongings, and managing project timelines efficiently. Clear communication between the homeowner and contractor regarding access, work hours, and daily routines is often key to a smooth process.
For projects that involve essential home systems, such as plumbing or electricity, contractors can help homeowners understand potential temporary service interruptions and plan accordingly. Our introduction service aims to connect you with independent contractors who value professionalism and homeowner comfort throughout the duration of a project.
Important Considerations for Your Home Project
Before commencing any home project, several considerations warrant attention. These may include confirming if permits are required, understanding any Homeowners' Association (HOA) guidelines, or reviewing specific architectural review board requirements in certain historic districts. Additionally, for projects involving structural changes or significant alterations, consulting with licensed professionals such as architects or engineers may be advisable.
Safety during a home project is paramount. A qualified contractor can identify potential hazards and implement appropriate safety protocols. It is the homeowner's and contractor's responsibility to ensure all work adheres to applicable safety standards and building codes.
Local Resources for Charlotte Homeowners
As you plan your home project, several local resources can provide valuable information. These government and public services offer guidance on various aspects of home ownership and project execution. We recommend homeowners familiarize themselves with these resources:
It is important to remember that these resources provide general information, and specific project details should always be confirmed directly with the relevant department or authority. The independent contractor you choose will also be able to advise on specific requirements related to your project.

About this introduction program
The Home Projects & Contractor Introductions program is an introduction resource offered by Peters Custom Homes, Inc. For projects handled through this program, the homeowner independently selects and retains the service provider. Any estimate, scope of work, construction agreement, payment, change order, schedule, permit obligation, workmanship commitment, or warranty is between the homeowner and the retained provider, as applicable to their agreement and the law.
PCH's role is limited to reviewing introduction requests and facilitating initial connections. PCH does not undertake construction management, jobsite supervision, inspection, or certification of the referred work. An introduction does not guarantee a provider's availability, price, licensing status, insurance coverage, workmanship, conduct, financial condition, or suitability for a particular project. Homeowners should independently evaluate the provider and confirm the qualifications and coverage appropriate to the proposed scope.
A contractor's work on a separate PCH project does not make PCH a party to that contractor's agreement with you. A separate direct PCH construction engagement exists only if agreed in a separate written agreement. Nothing in this disclosure eliminates any duty or liability that applicable law places on PCH for its own conduct or limits rights that cannot lawfully be waived.
